An exploration into the endless abyss.
The surface of the Earth is the shore of the cosmic ocean. From it, we have learned most of what we know. Recently, we have waded a little out to the sea, enough to dampen our toes or, at most, wet our ankles. The water seems inviting. The ocean calls.
Taking a break from shaders and 3D art, I figured space might be a good direction to gaze through the HTML5 Canvas. An attempt to capture the magnificence, sheer scale and visual appeal using impressions rather than astrophysics.
andromeda / our galaxy isn't the only one, in fact, we're just 1 in over 100 billion.
final parsec problem / the collision of black holes warping time and space, giving rise to an unsolvable problem.
gargantua / artistic impression of a black hole based on Gargantua from the surreal and touching movie Interstellar.
tiamat / we're still specks looking distant into space from our little blue planet and I believe our appreciation for space and the skies started at us appreciating meteor showers.
